RMSAS is a regional surgical center of expertise where existing spine treatments are perfected and bold new technologies are introduced. For instance, the center is at the forefront of spine arthroplasty procedures (lumbar or cervical non-fusion techniques and minimally invasive technology typically using an artificial disc implant as compared to rods/cages/screws).

Our surgeons are some of the most experienced in the United States having performed hundreds of surgeries to date. Experience is critical.

Additionally, the center was the first to implant a posterior interspinous stabilization device for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. Typically, this procedure can be performed on those who do not qualify for an artificial disc replacement.

Currently, there are a variety of devices approved for general use or in clinical trial as related to improved spine functioning.  The co-inventor of one of these devices (The MaverickT Artificial Disc) is right here at RMSAS, which is one of only a handful of regional centers in North America qualified to perform disc replacement surgery.  Additionally, our surgeons are capable of performing surgeries using a variety of other artificial discs.

No matter if your condition requires an investigational or approved device, the doctors at RMSAS can help. These implants have the potential to eliminate lower back or neck pain and return full range of motion to DDD or stenosis sufferers, with recovery in as little as a few weeks. Please contact us so we can help evaluate your condition and help you select the appropriate procedure for you.
