A handful of surgeons nationwide are qualified to implant cervical/lumbar artificial discs and posterior interspinous stabilization devices. Two of them are right here at RMSAS, and one them is a co-inventor of  lumbar disc replacement technology.

Dr. Kenneth Pettine and Dr. E. Jeffrey Donner are fellowship trained in spinal care after a five-year orthopedic residency. They are actively involved in research and are constantly exploring new techniques to solve pain problems. In their multidisciplinary practice, Dr. Pettine and Dr. Donner work with psychologists, pain specialists, therapists, chiropractors and especially family doctors to help you return to an active life after a spine injury.
